THIS WEEK: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey all! 👋 Long time no lists! The Listies took a brief hiatus after getting married last month, but we’re excited to return and wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃

🎈TOP 5 BALLOONS! TOP 5 FLOATS!

We took a close look at all 25 balloons and 31 floats from this morning’s parade, and this is where we landed…

Our favorite balloon was definitely Stuart the Minion, who seemed to be terrorizing those adorable banana suit guys, followed by the marionette-like Tiptoe and one of our personal favorite characters, Po from Kung Fu Panda 🐼

Our top float of the day was LEGO’s turkey-dragon “Brick-Changer,” followed closely by the Louisiana-themed Celebration Gator and the eye-catching People of the First Light, which honored the elders of the Wampanoag tribes 🌲

ALL PERFORMANCES, RANKED! 💃 🎤 🎭

There were a whopping 42 “performances” featured at this year’s parade—5 Broadway shows, 8 dance/performance groups, 11 marching bands, 17 float performers, and 1 Cher!

There was no competition for our favorite performance of the parade—it was the fun and frenetic hit Broadway musical, Shucked! To be honest, this show was not on our radar before today, but we think you better see it before it closes in January! 🌽

And we had to give a shoutout to the 77-year-old Cher for whipping up an extremely strange (but entertaining) Christmas bop that I don’t think any of us were expecting 🤩

Of all the marching bands, the Polar Express-themed number from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was our favorite, and Cornell Bhangra was easily our top dance group of the day 🕺

NOW, IT’S TIME FOR TURKEY! 😋

We said it’s a short one! Now that the parade is over, it’s time to get dressed in some loose pants and drink our weight in gravy. We hope you do the same!
